The Tuscany Region (Regione Toscana) is launching a new grant to support digital innovation in small towns and inner areas, the remote, outlying parts of the region. It’s an opportunity not to be missed for businesses, professionals and business associations working in Tuscany’s historic villages that want to go digital with non-repayable grants covering up to 80%.

Our agency, in partnership with Confindustria (the Italian employers’ federation), guides you through every stage: from the initial assessment to the application, all the way to implementation and expense reporting. A complete, fast, hands-on service.

What is the Inner Areas and Small Towns Grant (Bando Aree Interne e Piccoli Comuni)?

This grant, funded with more than €7 million, is part of the 2021-2027 ERDF program (FESR in Italian) and supports the digital transition of Tuscany’s most outlying areas.

The goal is to bring technology tools and solutions to places where digital transformation is moving more slowly, giving resources to businesses that want to innovate in practical ways.

Who can apply?

  • Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs)
  • Self-employed professionals
  • Business networks and consortia (with or without legal personality)

Applicants must have their registered office or an operating site in one of the eligible inner-area municipalities (the official list is attached to the call). The business must be active and meet the required financial, social security and tax requirements.

What expenses does the grant cover?

The grant goes toward purchasing specialized digitization services, such as:

  • Integrated business management solutions (ERP, CRM)
  • E-commerce sites or digital portals for online sales
  • Software for the smart management of company data
  • Automation and IoT projects
  • Cybersecurity
  • Technical assistance, design, support and training

How much funding is available?

  • Minimum spend: €7,000
  • Maximum spend: €100,000

Grant: 70% non-repayable, or 80% if the business is youth-owned or women-owned

Why choose a turnkey service?

Applying for the grant takes a precise strategy. If you improvise, the risk of mistakes, delays or inconsistent projects is high.

When you work with us, you get:

  • Complete strategic consulting (thanks to Confindustria)
  • Your application drafted and submitted with full documentation
  • Technical delivery of the project by our web agency (digital development, software, e-commerce, etc.)
  • Support all the way to the final expense report

All in one package. No wasted time, no juggling scattered contacts. Just results.

A practical example: an artisan online store for a shop in the Casentino valley

The shop “Sapori del Casentino”, located in a small town in the Apennines, decides to expand its market by opening an online store for local specialty products, integrated with a management system for orders and logistics.

Digital project:
  • Multilingual e-commerce website
  • CRM for customer management and newsletters
  • Order tracking and logistics automation software
  • Cybersecurity services and in-house training
Total project cost: €40,000

As a women-owned business, the shop receives the maximum grant: 80%.

Funding obtained:
  • Non-repayable grant: €32,000
  • Actual cost to the business: €8,000

A minimal investment for a major digital leap forward.
